Obama 2.0
Lessons in Social Media from the Obama Presidential Campaign
A Unique Half Day Event
November 4th 2008 was an historic day, not only because America elected its first black president, but because of the way Barak Obama and his team used Web 2.0 to engage and mobilise an ent ire nation to vote on an unprecedented scale delivering a landslide victory.
In the days leading up to Obama taking office, join us for this ground breaking half day event where we will examine, discuss and debate Obama’s Web 2.0 campaign strategy and explore how the principles of this extraordinary campaign can be applied to government, business, organisations and brands in the UK.
Obama’s mastery of all that Web 2.0 has to offer was the lynchpin of his success, allowing his message to be amplified through speaking to new and previously disengaged voters on their level and on their terms.
From social networking, to his blog, to his Fight the Smears campaign, Obama has made his Web 2.0 presence known. He has over 1.5 million friends on MySpace and Facebook, and he currently has over 45,000 followers on Twitter. This personal activity in social networks allowed him to quickly get the word out across multiple platforms.
This session will examine the Obama Web 2.0 campaign providing you with fascinating insight, case studies and learnings. We will then explore how you can apply these insights to your business or organisation leaving you with practical ideas for mobilising Web 2.0 to meet your objectives making this a truly unmissable event.
